I have been dedicated to supporting children, teens and families since 2008. I have had the privilege to journey alongside families in hospital, community mental health, and school settings. Most recently, I provided therapy for children and youth at one of Waterloo Region's largest Trauma Treatment programs.
I believe that families are the experts of their own experience, and that children and youth have innate wisdom about their own thoughts and feelings. My goal is to create a supportive space for this wisdom to come forward, fostering healing and resilience that extends beyond the therapy space.
My individual work with children and youth is also complimented by evidence-based parent consultation; to equip caregivers with tools to better understand their child's behaviour, strengthen family bonds, and co-create solutions to problems.
Outside of sessions, you can find Aimee spending time with her family and walking, camping and paddle boarding with her dog Clifford.
Clifford is still working on his emotional regulation skills to help him achieve his goal of becoming a therapy dog. He will not be assisting in sessions at this time.
